The 29th Raritan River Music Festival presents Across the Wide Water, a global music series highlighting music from Northern India and Bangladesh. This award-winning festival brings world-renowned performers to historic locations in picturesque western New Jersey through May 26. Ineffable: The Divine Spirit Within occurs on Saturday, May 12 at 7:30pm in Prallsville Mills in Stockton. Marina Ahmad, vocalist, performs with three acclaimed instrumental masters of South Asian classical music: Zafer Tawil, Suryaksha Deshpande and Shreyas Ravi. This evening is sure to delight the senses featuring music for tabla, violin, oud, harmonium and voice, all performed by musicians from Bangladesh, India and Palestine.
Advance ticket prices are $21 for adults and free admission for students 26 and under. If available, tickets at the door are $25 for adults and free for students 26 and under. Prallsville Mills is located at 33 Risler Street/Route 29 in Stockton.
The mission of Raritan River Music is to enrich the community through music presentation, creation, and programs of educational, therapeutic, and cultural enrichment. To date, over 1,000 presentations have served over 100,000 residents, plus millions more through media and Internet broadcasts. Founded in 1989 and currently celebrating its 29th year of service to the community, Raritan River Music has received awards and recognition for its innovative programs from The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, Chamber Music America, The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Warren County Human Relations Commission, and Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission.
