In The News: State High School Rankings Announced

March 19, 2018 Turpin Real Estate

NJ.com recently compiled a list of the top 50 high schools in the state and their results highlighted three public high schools in Turpin’s market area.

Coming in at 38th was North Hunterdon High School in Annandale, number 32 went to West Morris Mendham High School in Mendham, and ranked 19th in New Jersey was West Morris Central High School in Chester.

For the first time, the state Department of Education published a rating for each public high school on a scale of 0-100, allowing residents to see exactly how their local school compares to hundreds of other high schools across the state.

The rankings were calculated based on graduation rates, PARCC test proficiency rate and attendance. A school’s score in each category is based 50% on overall performance and 50% on the performance of key subgroups, such as African American, Hispanic, special education or economically-disadvantaged students.
