Top 5 reasons to consider buying an investment/vacation home in Martha’s Vineyard.

October 16, 2015 Turpin Real Estate

For three generations Turpin Real Estate has been deeply rooted in Northern New Jersey, but, we also extend beyond our roots.  Turpin has an established network of affiliates in far reaching communities throughout the US and the world. Today, we would like to introduce you to our New England affiliate LandVest.  LandVest is, like we are, an independent agency dedicated to assisting clients with the latest technology and more importantly by listening and offering professional expertise.  They have offices throughout New Englands most desirable locations. They have written a quick top 5 reasons on why invest in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

1.  An Island bustling with activity.  There is always something to do or see on Martha’s Vineyard.  Shark week or the annual Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby?  An International Film Festival, or the much anticipated Agricultural Fair?   Don’t miss the showcase event of each summer, The Taste of the Vineyard, and fall into the off-season with events such as the MV Food & Wine Festival!  Check out what is happening.

2.  The Carousel in Oaks Bluff.  Interesting fun fact – Established in 1876, it is the nation’s oldest platform carousel, and has been designated a national landmark by the US Department of the Interior. The carousel was brought to the island from Coney Island in 1884, saving it from being dismantling. The craftsmanship of the carousel and the challenge of grabbing the illusive brass ring, makes this a must-go-to, and right-of-passage for many generations of visitors and homeowners.

3.  The Trustees of Reservation’s five distinct island properties.  Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge, Long Point Wildlife Refuge, Menemsha Hills, the Japanese elegance of Mytoi on Chappaquiddick, or Norton Point Beach all offer beautiful landscapes and a delightful outdoor experience.

4.  Privacy and hobnobbing.  If it’s good enough for our presidents (This past summer Obama spent his 6th summer vacation there, Clinton- has returned almost every year since 93 and of course, the Kennedy Clan had their compound) and countless celebrities, it has to be great! Within 100 sq miles, Martha’s Vineyard offers secluded estates in 6 towns, all quite different in their own way.  This Island is the perfect vacation getaway or better yet, a place to call home.  Cape Air and Jet Blue now offer direct flights (about an hour) from Newark/JFK to the Island.
