Garden State Comic Fest in Morristown This Weekend
If you missed the recent Comic-Con International in San Diego, don’t despair. The Garden State Comic Fest takes place in Morristown this Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26, at the Mennen Sports Arena. Hours are 10am to 6pm and tickets are $18 at the door on Saturday or $15 at the door on Sunday. Children ten and under are free.
Over 150 vendors plus panel-led talks, contests, collectibles, super hero items, toys, exhibitors and of course, plenty of comic books for sale, will be part of the weekend’s activities. Meet artists from DC, Marvel and Valiant, including Greg Hildebrandt, Scott Hanna, Bob Camp, Adam Kubert, Neal Adams, Buzz, Amy Chu and many more. Other guests scheduled to appear are Ming Chen, star of the AMC reality television series Comic Book Men, and cosplay entertainers including Brea Biaa, Jennifer Rose, Ruby Rinekso, Belle Chere, Mikomi Chan and Lua Suicide. Voice-over artist Erica Schroeder, aka Bella Hudson, is also making an appearance.
Children’s events on Sunday include a drawing class, light saber class and costume contest. There are also trivia, costume and drawing contests with prizes for adults on Sunday. Visitors can view two iconic vehicles: the Jurassic Park Jeep and K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand), the talking car from 1980s television show Knight Rider. Providing music throughout the weekend is WDHA-FM.

There will be free parking and an ATM is available on-site. The William G. Mennen Sports Arena is located at 161 East Hanover Avenue in Morristown.
Built in 1973, the Mennen Arena offers three ice skating rinks for public sessions, group lessons, hockey clinics, figure skating clubs and parties. Non-ice activities include the Annual Shrine Circus, cat and dog shows, antique shows, craft shows and National Night Out among others. In addition to the Mennen Sports Arena, Morristown is known for its historic sites, museums, parks, golf courses, hiking and biking trails. The town offers convenient access to Interstates 287, 80 and 78, Morristown Municipal and Newark Liberty International Airports, and Routes 280 and 24.
